As Shimoga is a cultural centre, naturally the students are talented in one or the other fields. Theatre a
ctivities give opportunity to all the talents such as acting, music, make-up, lighting, directions, stage management etc. With the above view the college started a certificate course in drama in the year 2005. The College has well equipped Theatre and materials needed for the production of a play.
Ranga Shikshana Kendra has been giving productions of plays based on the prescribed texts.Our Students have enacted ‘Macbeth‘ a Shakespeare play and “The Overcoat” a dramatisation of prescribed novel Nikolai Gogol. The productions have helped not oly students of our college but also the students of other colleges.
Prof. S. C. Gowrishankar of our college has translated and adopted several English texts into Kannada and has directed the same for the benefit of the students.
